If you’re a full student at one of our Belgian partner universities, then you can apply for an internship through IAESTE Belgium. Our partner universities are Ghent University, the university of Brussels (VUB) and the university of Leuven (KUL). Our internships are tailored to students in a technical field (engineering, bio-engineering, science, maths, …), but if your field of study is not one of those you can still apply, as long as you meet the internship requirements.
We have two application procedures through which you can apply for an internship:
Annual procedure
Once a year, you can apply for internships reserved for Belgian students. This means you have a higher chance to find an interesting internship and get accepted for it. Applications are open from the end of January till mid-February each year, and they take place on the Belgian Application Platform.

Year-round procedure
We also accept applications on a continuous basis using a first-come-first-serve principle through the international IAESTE Exchange Platform. If you can't find the internship you're looking for through the Annual Procedure or if you're applying at another time of the year, then this procedure might be interesting for you. In this procedure, the internships are not reserved for Belgian students, and new offers appear continuously on the platform.

Important info
Internships in Turkey and countries with negative travel advice by the Belgian government (e.g. Pakistan, North-Korea, certain parts of Nigeria, …) are not open for application for Belgian students. See the website of the Belgian diplomacy for country-specific travel advice to see if this applies to the internship you’re interested in. In case of doubt, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
Get involved!
IAESTE Belgium consists of three student-run local committees in Ghent, Brussels and Leuven. We arrange internships, organize social and info events for students at our universities, and set up an extensive “summer reception” program to make sure that the international trainees that do a IAESTE summer internship here have an amazing time.
